BisaFund believes that everyone deserves equal access to our platform — regardless of disability, device, or connectivity. This page outlines our accessibility features and how to report issues.
Our Commitment
BisaFund is committed to ensuring our crowdfunding platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards across all our web and mobile interfaces.
Mobile-First Design
BisaFund is designed mobile-first to serve users across Ghana who primarily access the internet via smartphones. Our interfaces use large touch targets (minimum 44×44px), clear contrast ratios, and simplified navigation to support users on all devices and connection speeds.
Screen Reader Support
Our platform uses semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and descriptive alt text on images to ensure compatibility with screen readers such as TalkBack (Android) and VoiceOver (iOS). Key interactive elements include descriptive labels so screen reader users can navigate effectively.
Colour & Contrast
Text and interactive elements meet minimum contrast ratios as defined by WCAG 2.1. We do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning — icons, labels, and text are used alongside colour indicators to ensure information is accessible to users with colour vision deficiency.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements on BisaFund — including forms, buttons, and navigation — are operable via keyboard alone. Focus indicators are clearly visible. Users can navigate through our platform without requiring a mouse or touch screen.
Text & Font Sizes
BisaFund uses a minimum body text size of 14px (scaling to 16px on desktop). Text can be resized up to 200% using browser or device settings without loss of content or functionality. We avoid text rendered in images where possible.
Language Support
BisaFund currently supports English and French, with the language switcher prominently available in the navigation menu. All system messages, error messages, and notifications are available in the selected language. We are working to expand language support to include additional Ghanaian languages.
Phone Verification Accessibility
Our phone OTP verification system is designed to be accessible. The OTP input field has a clear label and accepts numeric input via any keyboard. Users who experience difficulty receiving SMS can contact our support team for an alternative verification path.
Payment Accessibility
Our donation and payment flows are designed to be straightforward and accessible. We support mobile money (MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo) as the primary payment method — aligning with how most Ghanaians already transact digitally, reducing barriers to contributing to campaigns.
AI-Generated Blog Content
BisaFund publishes AI-generated blog articles weekly. All AI content is written in plain English and reviewed for clarity before publication. Articles use standard heading hierarchy (H1, H2) and are fully accessible to screen readers. AI-generated articles are labelled with a "AI" indicator on the blog page so users are aware of their origin.
Known Limitations
We are continuously working to improve accessibility. Some third-party payment provider interfaces (Paystack) may have their own accessibility standards outside our direct control. AI-generated campaign content may occasionally produce text that is complex or verbose — we encourage organizers to review and simplify where needed. AI blog articles, while reviewed for safety, may occasionally use technical terms; we encourage readers to contact us if an article is unclear.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you encounter any accessibility barrier on BisaFund, please contact us at support@bisafund.com. Describe the issue, the page or feature affected, and the assistive technology you are using. We aim to respond within 5 business days and resolve critical accessibility issues as a priority.
Progressive Web App (PWA)
BisaFund is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed on Android and iOS devices. The PWA provides a native app-like experience with offline capability for viewing campaigns, making it more accessible to users with unreliable internet connections.
