FAQs
How much does BisaFund charge?
BisaFund is free to start. We charge a platform fee of 5% on each donation. Payment processing is handled by Paystack (our third-party gateway), which charges approximately 1.5% for domestic payments (mobile money/Ghana cards) or 3.9% for international cards — these gateway fees are set by Paystack, not BisaFund. There is no cost to create a campaign. Donors can optionally choose to cover the 5% platform fee at checkout — when they do, 100% of their donation goes to the organiser with no fee deducted at payout.
How do I receive my funds?
You can withdraw funds directly to your MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, or any Ghanaian bank account. Withdrawals are processed within 1–3 business days after admin review. You must complete Smile ID biometric KYC verification before any payout. The minimum withdrawal is GH₵ 200, and you can submit one request per campaign every 7 days.
What if I don't reach my goal?
You keep whatever you raise! BisaFund operates on a "keep what you raise" model. There's no penalty for not reaching your full goal. Applicable fees are deducted before funds are made available.
How long can my campaign run?
Campaigns can run for as long as you need. You can set an end date or keep it open indefinitely. You can also close your campaign early once you've raised enough.
Is my donation secure?
Yes! All payments are processed by Paystack, a trusted Ghanaian payment provider. Transactions are encrypted and secure. BisaFund never stores your mobile money credentials or bank details. Donors receive a confirmation of every contribution.
Can people outside Ghana donate?
Yes! Diaspora donors can donate using international Visa/Mastercard. We accept USD, GBP, EUR, and CAD — the conversion is handled automatically at checkout. Visit our Diaspora Giving page for more details.
Can I set up a recurring donation?
Yes! Donors can set up weekly or monthly recurring donations to any campaign. Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time from your donations dashboard.
How does campaign verification work?
There are two separate processes. First, when you create a campaign you must verify your phone number via a 6-digit OTP sent by SMS. After submitting, a BisaFund admin reviews your campaign content and marks it "Active" so it can accept donations. Second, to earn an "Identity Verified" badge and unlock withdrawals, you complete Smile ID biometric KYC — submit your government ID details and take a selfie, which Smile ID matches against the Ghana government database. If Smile ID fails, an admin can manually verify your identity after reviewing your submitted evidence.
What languages does BisaFund support?
BisaFund supports English and French. You can switch your language preference anytime using the language switcher in the navigation menu. Your campaigns and profile will display in your selected language.

Yes! When creating a campaign, you can use our AI-powered campaign assistant to generate a compelling description. Simply describe your situation and category, and the AI will create a draft that you can refine and customize.
